Innovation

Our department is an active and regular participant in national clinical trials, most often related to treatments for, or complications from, HIV.

We also partner with the University of Colorado–Denver to refer eligible patients to studies that are being conducted there.

Who we are

We’re a tight-knit team of health care professionals who strive to improve the health of those living with acute and chronic infectious diseases. Currently we have seven board-certified infectious diseases specialists, and our team is growing. We also have a highly specialized team of nurses, an HIV care coordinator who helps HIV-positive members find the resources they need, and a dedicated clinical pharmacist who provides the highest quality support for safe and effective treatments.

We see patients at Skyline and Rock Creek Medical Offices, and take part in care for our mountain area members as well. Our doctors see hospitalized patients at all our contracted hospitals, and when needed, track their care as they progress from rehab facilities to home.

Connected care

Our team works closely with primary care clinicians, hospital medicine doctors, surgeons, and other medical specialists. We also work alongside pharmacists, microbiologists, and pathologists in the hospital and outpatient settings. Because we are all connected to each other — and to you — through our electronic health records system, we can instantly and easily see labs, X-rays, and other clinicians’ documentation. This allows our doctors to practice medicine the way it should be practiced — with compassion and a focus on you.

The way we practice medicine at Kaiser Permanente gives us the freedom to focus on care, rather than running a business. We are free to practice medicine the way it is supposed to be practiced — with a focus on providing expert, compassionate care to you.

Every member of your care team is here to support you through your journey. When you have excellent doctors, truly connected care teams, advanced technology, and the right partners, you can expect great results.

Each year, Kaiser Permanente doctors are recognized as top doctors by their peers and publications such as 5280 magazine. Some have joined us from top-ranked academic training programs and successful private practices. Others have been honored for their invaluable contributions to medical advancements and new surgical techniques that help patients heal quickly and with less pain.

Our hospital partners have a track record of success and are often recognized as regional or national centers of excellence for their specialties. We also partner with national organizations, contributing to large, cutting-edge, research projects.
